Profile
ATTORNEY PROFILE
Admitted to the California Bar in 1995, Marian FitzGerald brings solid legal experience to her current family law practice at Tong Family Law Group. Having handled an array of family law matters, she has the ability — and sincere desire — to meaningfully connect with clients as they navigate a complex legal process.
Marian has practiced family law exclusively since 2018. Prior to joining TFLG, Marian worked at premier San Francisco-based family law firms representing high net worth clientele in all issues related to marital dissolution actions, including complex property characterization and division, child and spousal support, and contentious custody issues, as well as representing victims of intimate partner abuse in high conflict matters. This honed her courtroom skills and developed her penchant for advocating fiercely on behalf of clients and their families.
Before her family law work, Marian was an attorney with Foley & Lardner, balancing a dual role with its managed care practice and its labor and employment group. She handled a wide variety of litigation, primarily for institutional healthcare clients. Shifting her practice to estate planning and probate, she later served as a research attorney for the San Mateo County Superior Court while maintaining a private practice with a boutique probate litigation firm.
Maintaining a strong commitment to her community, Marian has volunteered for the San Mateo Superior Court Family Law pro-per status conference calendar and has also served on local executive school boards in and around San Mateo County. She is currently Vice Chair of the Executive Board of the Women Lawyers Section of the San Mateo County Bar Association.
Marian holds a first Dan black belt in Taekwondo and is moderately obsessed with tennis and music. She is forever proud of her two talented and compassionate adult children.
